“Healthcare is for everyone, not just for Doctors. The European Center for Patient Centric Innovation and Medical Entrepreneurship (ECIE) tries to bring academia and business together” – Presented by Tobias D. Gantner, MD, MBA, LL. M., The European Center for Patient Centric Innovation and Medical Entrepreneurship (ECIE), at Health Tech Event, December 8, 2016, High Tech Campus Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

Healthcare standards are too seldom based on patient insights and innovation in medicine shows too little involvement of physicians. As patients need to learn to utter their wishes and believes, doctors need to engage in entrepreneurial endeavors to make innovation happen. Both of which will lead to a better and more suitable practice of medicine because it reduces ignorance on both sides of the stethoscope and serves as a connector between science and sales.

This talk will be about innovation in healthcare and what makes change so difficult in this field. It will explain why light at the end of the tunnel might not be a train but the internet of connected healthy things.
